The final step to our welding upgrades via referendum is finally complete. Just in time for Christmas!! #LikeANorse welding students now have 12 new top of the line Miller welders which allow them to do a variety of welding processes. With our welding upgrades complete this allows us to offer welding to a larger group of students. Welding was previously capped at 14 students a year due to cost. It is our goal that we can double the offering and get students hands on with what they may want to do. Students also get the opportunity to operate an Ellis bandsaw, and cut metal with our Hypertherm plasma cutter.
Our goal is to get our students career or college ready, and with our new welding facility we can do that. We now have the opportunity to collaborate with local businesses to get our students into the field sooner through Youth Apprenticeships. We are also working on transcribing our welding classes with Western Technical College.
